This running shoe is a classic Nike trainer and the pegasus is one of the best selling trainers year after year. The Nike Pegasus 33 is the latest zoom running shoe and is one of the most popular running shoe out right now.
Cushion
This version of the Pegasus uses zoom technology for its cushioning and it has average quality of zoom, nothing special but it still works. This Nike shoe’s cushioning can keep up with any kind of training sessions from high speed to a simple walk also the zoom unit makes the midsole durable and quite lightweight. The 33’s cushioning is very responsive as well so with this shoe on there will be no knee injuries! Another good thing about the cushioning of this shoe is that it has a lot of versatility this is because as soon as it is pushed down it bounces right up again allowing versatility, responsiveness and bounce. A bad thing about this zoom unit is the softness and foam-like feel wears way after a few runs and begins to get harder and the because the mid sole is so thin the bouncy affect doesn’t last for long therefore the responsiveness and soft feel while you are running goes away quickly. Because of these factors I would rate the cushioning of the Nike Pegasus 33 as 6/10.
Stability
The cushion in this shoe is designed to make you feel stable and it does but the narrow shape of the Pegasus 33 left me feeling very unstable and it was as if I was going to roll my ankle at any moment. This is very bad for me because in a running shoe I would like to feel as stable as possible. If you are a runner that does a lot of sharp cuts and turns while they run this shoe is not right for you but if you are a runner who runs in straight lines the stability of the Pegasus 33 is adequate. The outsole of this shoe has strong rubber with well placed grooves that allows flexibility and stability. Even though this choice of technology adds weight to the trainer it does add quite a lot of stability so to sum up it doesn’t feel like it but it is unlikely that you will role your ankle while running in this shoe. I would rate the stability of the Pegasus 33 5/10.
Upper
The upper of the Nike zoom Pegasus 33 is made out of thin flymesh with a sock liner attached to the tongue creating a snug fit from your heel to toes. The thin mesh material allows breathability to the shoe allowing your feet to not overheat during a hard training session. In the upper there is no seams or irritating areas that can hinder you while you are running so in the comfort aspect the upper is very good. The lockdown on the 33 is very good as well, it doesn’t let your foot slide around while running and it pins down your foot in this trainer. I would rate the upper of the Pegasus 33 9/10.
Overall
The Pegasus 33 is a good everyday neutral running shoe for beginners or professionals. It I also an enjoyable shoe to run in before the cushioning wears away. It is quite flexible and lightweight despite the weight has increased since the last few Pegasus releases. The upper is very breathable and comfortable with a good lockdown. If you are fan of the 32 you will love the Pegasus 33. Overall I would rate these running shoes 7/10.
