LeBron Soldier 10

The LeBron soldier 10 basketball shoe was the most anticipated LeBron soldier of all time! This is because LeBron James actually won the championship wearing this shoe, this shows this basketball shoe is fit for a king!

Cushion/zoom unit

This shoe has an injected phylon mid-sole, this gives a good impact protection although you can’t always feel the cushioning but you know it is there. This is designed like this because LeBron James is a relatively heavy player therefore he needs good impact protection, like on the shoe, but he would be able to feel the cushioning more because he is a heavier player therefore the choice of using phylon is perfect! The zoom unit is not great because it has a very thin bottom loaded zoom. It is so thin that you can hardly feel it therefore there is less bounce on the shoe. I feel that Nike should of chose a more premium zoom which is thicker so the wearers could at least have a little bounce. Because of this overall I would rate the cushion/ zoom unit as a 4/10.

Upper

The upper is made out of mesh backed with foam this is very soft even when you get it out of the box so you don’t have to even break them in, you can just put them on and play! This shoe is a high top which I like a lot. This is because it gives me more support and aesthetically this shoe is one of the best I have seen also the materials used are breathable, supportive and great for explosive players. Overall I rate the upper for the LeBron soldier 10 shoe as a 8.5/10.

Traction

This shoe has a square on square traction pattern this works for a player like LeBron who doesn’t do much crossovers or cuts however for a guard, like me, the shoe would constantly be slipping if you had the translucent mid-sole colourway and their foot would be moving around in the shoe. Personally the traction isn’t great for me because I like a strong lock down and I do to many crossovers and cuts to be wearing this kind of shoe, however for a big man or a forward like LeBron the traction is perfect because they are not as shifty as guards like Kyrie or Steph. A good factor of the traction is that it doesn’t pick up that much dust. You wouldn’t really need to wipe it at all! But to be safe I wipe the traction after 2 or 3 games just to make sure my traction keeps in the best condition possible. Overall I would rate the traction of the LeBron soldier 10 shoe as a 6.5/10.

Fit

The fit of this shoe is really good it goes true to size and when they are on they feel comfortable and not tight or loose at all. The only problem I have with the fit is that these shoes are really hard to get on. The reason why they are so hard to get on is that unlike laces which you can adjust to make them tighter or looser the straps on the Lebron’s are non adjustable. Also as they are such a high shoe you need to force the front of your foot in the narrow top of the shoe however when they are on the fit is absolutely fine even though the lock down isn’t great. Therefore I rate the fit of the LeBron soldier 10 as a 5/10.

Overall

Overall this shoe has a traction that suits a player that is like LeBron, has a lock down which is not the best, has good impact protection, no bounce, doesn’t collect dust, breathable upper, soft and has one of the best support I have ever felt. Therefore for me I rate the LeBron soldier 10 7/10.
